Melissa Joan Hart made commercials when she was a little kid, performed on stage as a pre-teen, was the title character on Clarissa Explains It All in her teens, Sabrina on Sabrina the Teenage Witch in her 20s, and Mel on Melissa and Joey in her 30s, and in between all that made some TV movies and started a production company with her mom, too. In her memoir, Melissa Explains It All, she is quite forthcoming about guys and drugs and partying and admits that while she probably wasn’t much different from many 20-somethings she really only made it to adulthood with her squeaky clean image because she never got caught doing naughty things. Now, she’s settled down as a wife and mother, the role she is most proud of in her life. The book is enjoyable and her sarcastic sense of humor comes through in her writing. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Melissa Joan Hart!

I had this book in my collection for awhile and finally checked it off my list. Melissa Joan Hart from Clarissa Explains it All was one of my favorite teen actresses growing up. In her book she shares everything from how she acted her whole life, behind the scenes info from her shows and other actors. She also talks about her home life, meeting her husband and having kids as an actress but then choosing to move to Connecticut. .She has stayed relatively normal and grounded even though so she has led pretty much a Hollywood lifestyle since she was 4 year old! It was a fun book but she does write with arrogance that I think she means to be humorous.

MJH delivers an easy to read, matter of fact account of her life thus far. Unlike other celebrity written books, Melissa doesn't sensationalize or scandalize and is careful to tailor her book for all taste levels. She doesn't gossip or trash talk and the book is better for it. Melissa is clearly a natural writer and gives us just enough inside details into her fascinating life.Melissa is a great writer and this book is great. This book is a memoir about the life of child actress Melissa Joan Hart who rose to fame on the Nickelodeon sitcom "Clarissa Explains It All" and the TGIF sitcom "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch". The teenage voice for many teens growing up in the early 90's, Melissa holds a special place in our hearts and this book is a nice look at her life and she showcases the events that made her into the successful actress she is today. From sudden fame at a young age, her parents divorce when she was 13, celebrity friends and the Hollywood lifestyle. Melissa address is all in a simple, matter of fact way that is engaging to read and doesn't turn you off.

I read the print version of this book prior to purchasing the audiobook. The stories and anecdotes in most of the chapters were very interesting to me as a longtime fan of Melissa's TV series "Clarissa Explains It All" and "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." That said, I thought it'd be fun to listen to her narrating them while I'm in the car. Having watched so many episodes of the aforementioned shows, her voice, of course, is comfortably familiar. Her style is pretty laidback and easy to follow. There are a few points at which she sounds a little dry and slightly monotone (which is why I refrained from a five-star rating). But overall, it's fun hearing her observations on showbiz and life as a mom straight from the horse's mouth!

I first heard that Melissa was writing a book of her life when she was on "Watch what Happens Live." I then decided to pre-order it. With all the cold and snow this winter, I have had the time to sit and read finally and have really enjoyed this book. I am only a few years younger than Melissa so have grown up watching her on TV. She is not a star that you hear about in the tabloids or complaining of being a child star and I had wanted to learn more about her. Since I don't really see her in pictures with many other stars her age, I was surprised she knew so many of them. I found it fun to learn more about her. Thanks Melissa for sharing your life with us. It's great that she has had the rare success of 3 TV shows. Melissa and Joey is my favorite so far!

I grew up watching Clarissa Explains it All and really like what I know of Melissa Joan Hart as person, so I thought that this book would be a great read. It was OK, but not great. I enjoyed the stories that Hart had to share and I liked that it went from childhood into adulthood. She shared just enough without going into too many private details. It wasn't really her story that disappointed, but rather the writing. It seemed choppy and not very fluid. Her voice was clearly in it, but her stories felt disjointed and unorganized. I guess you can say that my problem was with the editing not the content. I really did enjoy learning more about Hart, I just wish the writing had been better.

I enjoy reading biographies and I tend to have one going most of the time, even if I am reading other books as well. This story was interesting and did enjoy it. It was a bit surface and Melissa writes with an arrogance that took me awhile to get used to. She also writes with humor, even if she tries too hard to be funny at times. I did finish it and I would recommend it if you are looking for a biography without a whole lot of substance.

I love Melissa, I watched every Clarissa, Sabrina and Melissa and Joey episode. So I thought 'this book is gonna be great' but is not... I think its totally trying to explain things that should or are worse when explained, tell stuff about her personal life totally inappropriate to share, and above all, constantly trying to sell Melissa. As if Melissa needed that to be more successful or anything. Sorry, but backfired, I like Melissa less now...
